You asked, we delivered.

No more required MailGun account to validate email addresses with PlusThis. Our new solo Email Validator runs the validation through PlusThis in order to ensure that your list of email addresses is valid for the best possible deliverability.

Email validation has become not only more important, but’s become more difficult as well. Now,  you can use just one new PlusThis tool to validate your list and ensure that the information you have is correct, but also valid for the best deliverability to your list.

While setting the tool up is simple, there are a few steps so let’s run through the process of configuring the new Email Validator tool together.

Step 1: Select the email list to validate

To begin, select the email field you’d like to validate to ensure a different number of things regarding your contacts email addresses.

Step 2: Determine the tags for each result of validation

Select the appropriate tags you’d like to be applied for each type of result the validation run processes. This will include if there was no email found in the field, if the email is deliverable, if the email is undeliverable, if the email should not be sent to, and if the email is unknown.

Step 3: Determine the tags for email risk results

Select the tags you’d like to be applied based on the risk level of the email address for each contact, including high, medium, and low risk.

Step 4: Determine tags for advanced validation results

There are several other advanced options when it comes to validating email addresses. These options are all included to allow you to apply tags when a certain form of validation comes up. These range from the format of the email address being incorrect to validation being unable to be completed due to the domain.

Step 5: Choose an action to trigger after validation is complete

Lastly, determine what action you’d like to trigger after validation has been completed, this can be applying another tag, or triggering an API goal. You also have the option to do nothing to the contacts after validation is complete.

Step 6: Receive the url to place in your CRM

After saving your tool, you will receive a specific URL to place directly inside your campaign through a webhook process.

Step 7: Place Into CRM

In the campaign you have set up for email validation, you will place the tool inside of a HTTP Post (Keap) or a webhook (ActiveCampaign) and allow the tool to run on your list to determine the validity of email addresses.

That’s how you go through the process of configuring the new Email Validator tool!

There are a couple important things to note; firstly, while no additional MailGun account is required, the tool does still utilize tool runs and runs for every email address that is validated. There’s no additional cost for validation, since tool runs are included in each plan with certain limitations. Depending on the size of your list, it’s important to take note of the amount of tool runs that are allotted for your chosen plan.
